VI CIS International Economic Forum “CIS and New Formats of Cooperation”

Podchufarov A.Y., First Deputy General Director of the Foreign Trade Association “Avtopromimport”, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the “Avtopromimport” Department at HSE University, delivered a report on “Effective Interaction Systems in the CIS Space” at the VI CIS International Economic Forum “CIS and New Formats of Cooperation”, held on 14 March 2014 at the Congress Centre of the International Trade Centre.

The Foreign Trade Association “Avtopromimport” took part in the VI CIS International Economic Forum “CIS and New Formats of Cooperation”, held on 14 March 2014 at the Congress Centre of the International Trade Centre. The forum was organised by the CIS Business Centre for Economic Development, with the support of the CIS Executive Committee and the CIS Financial and Banking Council.

The forum was attended by members of the CIS Economic Council, heads of the CIS Executive Committee, the Eurasian Economic Commission, ministers and heads of departments from CIS member states, leading managers of industry associations, banking institutions, investment funds, exchanges, business councils, entrepreneurs, representatives of analytical and expert centres, research and educational institutions, mass media, and foreign partners.

The Eurasian Economic Commission and the Interstate Bank held a round table on “Prospects for Sustainable Economic Growth in the Context of Eurasian Integration” as part of the forum.

In addition, the forum featured sessions on:
– Mechanisms for implementing innovative projects and intellectual property
– Development of the free trade area. Interaction between integration formats
– Prospects for sustainable economic growth within Eurasian integration

The key objectives of the forum were to strengthen economic cooperation, in particular by exploring prospects for sustainable economic growth, financial instruments and mechanisms for implementing innovative projects, developing sectoral economic cooperation, and addressing other pressing topics of multilateral economic interaction.

Held annually, the forum serves as a unique platform for dialogue on overcoming barriers to economic integration in the Eurasian space and discussing promising projects for its implementation.
